Despite the fact that Swift always says the right things, acts the right way, and has so far not had a meltdown like so many of her famous peers, she's just a bit too precocious for her own good. It makes sense, of course; "This is the person who emerged at 15, writing the kind of perfectly crafted pop songs people four times her age would be proud of," Paskin notes. But the precociousness extends beyond her music, and it's getting annoying."

Lessons in parenting | Deccan Chronicle
In recent years, we’ve been treated to reams of op-ed articles about how we need better teachers in our public schools and, if only the teachers’ unions would go away, our kids would score like Singapore’s on the big international tests. There’s no question that a great teacher can make a huge difference in a student’s achievement, and we need to recruit, train and reward more such teachers. But here’s what some new studies are also showing: We need better parents. Parents more focused on their children’s education can also make a huge difference in a student’s achievement.

DAY 1285 | bigb.bigadda.com

DAY 1285 | bigb.bigadda.com

What a sensational day in the studios of KBC ! A young man from the interiors of Bihar, earning a meagre salary of just Rs 6,500 per month, coming from the most humblest of back grounds, reaches the Hot Seat and cracks the ultimate prize – 5 cr rupees !! An incredible feat ! This is what the common man is all about. This is what KBC is all about – given an opportunity the common man has the strength the ability and the accumen to prove to the world that he is the best and second to none.

The pulsating excitement on the set and among the crew was unimaginable. It was as if they had won the hugest prize ever in the history of Indian Television. The tension as each question was meticulously answered and the pulsating and throbbing hearts as he crossed the 1 cr mark and then waited and waited and waited till almost eternity to decide on that final answer of 5 cr rupees. The entire place just exploded. The family of Sushil Kumar, the contestant, not prone to any kind of public jubilation ran on to the floor of the set in uncontrollable joy and screams and tears of happiness, whilst the live audience were whooping it up on their feet with the loudest scream I have ever heard in this 11 year association with KBC !!

Ahh ! Still cannot get over that moment. Rare and once in a lifetime !!

And then soon after in the next episode another humdinger !! But of that some other time !

Flow like a River
by Joy Leftow
New love which flows is always exciting, satisfying and inspiring.

my love for you flows like a river
intermingling energies from our bodies and minds
we become a poem about flow like a river
separate yet together, we glide through the red earthern river
watching golden sun reflect off deep violet and blue running water we flow

we move as one, with the grace of a nod or a word
move safely from one activity to the next
parts of the same clock; two hands tick,
you play the big hand; I am the little
we switch gears so I am big and you are little
How did we do that in the wink of a eye

Refreshing like a cool breeze at sunset on a warm day
comfortable like a hot blast from a furnace
when we return to a warm inn at sunset
after a rigid freezing day outdoors

we return to reality; I am me and you are you
we are not separate pieces of reality
nor are we separate pieces of each other
though each coming together makes reality less clear
